FIAP Gold Medal in International Competition in Spain

15th September 2010
Following on from my news blog entry in August about international photography salons and inspired by my initial success I decided to produce more black and white images and start entering the monochrome section along with the colour category in future salons. This has been a good decision. While my colour works are scoring highly and getting accepted my monochrome images are winning awards.

Most recently this image has won 3 awards, the most notable of which is an FIAP GOLD MEDAL. This was the top award available for that salon.

FIAP Gold Medal (V Salón Internacional Fotografía Digital Illes Balears 2010)
Diploma Images Sans Frontiere (XII Certamen Internacional Fotográfico Mallorca 2010)
FIAP Honourable Mention (10th Malmö International Exhibition of Photographic Art)

Honourable Mention Photographic Society of America International Exhibition of Photography 2010

If I am ever going to achieve distinctions from the FIAP (Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique) I will need continued success in salons with many images so I decided to vary the images that I enter. Rather than choose what I consider to be my best work and enter those into every salon, I choose different images. This has also proved to be a good decision, as of today I have had 29 different images accepted in salons.
